a consciously, sustainably caught sockeye salmon brand founded by a formidable fisherwoman

after drawing out jessica’s story and vision for her footing in the industry, I created a brand that emphasized the thoughtfulness, artistry and sustainability of her fishing methods. like a siren’s song, her brand was designed to enchant in the grocer, stand out against her competition and let the gorgeous, healthy hues of the conciously caught fish do the talking.

“There is a lot of work that must be done between an idea and its manifestation in real form.  That work, that creativity, takes so much communication.  This is what I loved about working with Brooke, from the time we started discussing creating a logo for my company until that logo was printed on business cards and labels, we had an open line of communication and I always felt comfortable making my own input and expressing my vision.  The result was a logo that felt very true to me and my company but that was professional in a way I could never have achieved alone.

The thing that impressed me about working with Brooke is how multifaceted she is as a designer.  There is more to a logo than graphic design, and her background in psychology as well as art played a huge role in how she approached the creative vision of my company.  Brooke taught me the importance of color palette not just as a tool to create a cohesive website design, but how it can affect a person’s mood and comfort and ultimately their buying tendencies in a marketplace.  Beyond color, we spent a lot of time discussing my vision for my company via email threads, questionnaires, rebounding ideas off one another and creating a collaborative design board on Canva.  We discussed what inspires me and what my core values are.  This helped me focus my ideas for myself when forming my business and allowed me to present those ideas clearly on my website.

Brooke cares deeply about the ocean, as do I, and sustainable and ethical business, whether it is tied to the ocean or not, was something we discussed throughout working together.  Our conversations left me with a deeper feeling of intentionality for my business and helped me realize and believe in what I was doing.  Throughout the process of working together Brooke always believed in what I was hoping to achieve; this is worth so much in the beginning stages of creating a consciously minded business.”
